Tension Wrap System™ (TWS) is UDOG’s patented cycling shoe fit system. Unlike conventional closures that mainly secure the foot from above, TWS wraps the foot from the bottom up, supporting the metatarsal area and distributing tension more evenly around the foot.
The result is a secure, supportive fit designed to combine comfort, stability and controlled power transfer throughout the pedal stroke.
TWS uses dynamic textile or TPU-laminated tensors integrated into the shoe construction. The tensors start beneath the footbed, travel through the sole and up both sides of the shoe, where they connect to the closure system.
When the shoe is tightened, the tensors pull the upper inward from multiple directions, creating a bottom-up wrap around the metatarsal area.
This construction helps distribute tension across the foot rather than concentrating it in a single area, providing support during both the push and pull phases of pedalling.
Secure fit. The bottom-up wrapping construction helps keep the foot securely supported throughout the pedal stroke.
Even pressure distribution. The tension is distributed across a wider area of the upper, helping reduce concentrated pressure points.
Comfort. The system is designed to provide a supportive fit without relying on excessive tightening, making it particularly suited to long hours in the saddle.
Controlled power transfer. By stabilising the metatarsal area and keeping the foot securely connected to the shoe, TWS is designed to support efficient power transfer to the pedal.
TWS 2.0 is the latest evolution of UDOG’s Tension Wrap System™. It combines the TWS with dial closure system.
It uses independent tensors across a larger area of the upper, allowing the tension to be distributed more evenly and the foot to be supported from multiple directions.
In TWS 2.0, the tensors work together with the dial closure system - Fast twist or Twist Tech - to create a more precise and adaptive fit, while textile guides help further reduce concentrated pressure on the upper.
